Step 1: Leave Backup Running 

  • First backups can take several hours 
  • Avoid interrupting initial backup 

 

Step 2: Check Backup Disk Speed 

  • Use USB 3.0 / Thunderbolt drives 
  • Avoid USB 2.0 drives 

 

Step 3: Exclude Large Folders
